So last night I replaced my freenas server IBM x3650 m3 which had 288GB of memory, to an IBM x3850 X5 that now has 786GB of memory, I'm having two more memory cards shipped, this way by end of next week I'll have a total of 1TB of memory.

Here is the issue, I found with 786GB, it will sit on this part of the screen for 11 minutes and 18 seconds. Can I assume this is to be expected with this much memory? Once it gets past that screen everything is great. I did validate that if I only add a couple sticks of memory, getting past that screen shot was fast, but as I added more memory sticks the longer it took to get past that screen. Thanks

It's being used for cifs and iscsi for vmware, dedupe is not enable, just the standard compression lz4. I just had a thought, isn't their an option to boot in verbose mode, would that give me more info on what it's doing?

That delay can be result of memory test. Try to set such loader tunable: hw.memtest.tests=0.
