zvol vs file extents ver 9.10

Hello All,

I am about to set ISCSI extents for new storage that will serve eventually Xen host for guest spin on
Searching for "zvol vs file extents" i saw lots of discussions regarding this topic especially prior to 9.3 version
I am currently using version 9.10 and would like to know what is the status for that for current version performance wise?

You probably didn't see that for 9.3, it was really only a question for 9.2 and earlier.

From 9.3 onwards, zvol is a fairly clear winner. The underlying support for SCSI UNMAP and the other optimizations that have been made for iSCSI heavily favor zvol.
