Hi there,

I have installed a FreeNAS 8.0.1rc1 on a machine with five 2TB Samsung drives. All disks are in one volume with about 5,4TB usable space (says the gui of freenas).

Then I created a few ZFS Datasets without any quotas. Now a "df -h" and the gui report for each dataset the full 5,4TB as free. But I only have this 5,4TB one time. So how can I see which space is really in use and really free?

Thanks

okay - "zfs list" in die CLI. But how can I see the used und available in die Freenas gui for the whole zfs volume?

don't use 'df -h' for zfs, use 'zfs list'

at that particular point in time, each dataset has that much more extra capacity, any of them can take another 5.4 TB of stuff. the extra space is not allocated until used. zfs list is written for zfs, df -h is not, it (can) get things wrong for zfs or at least display them in a way that is confusing
