2.5Gb/sec isn't to bad but it's only 25% efficient.
How fast do you think your transfer was from one array to the next?
On my system, it seems I would max out around 190MB/s and I am fairly confident it was not HDD limited.

I really don't remember. Think I forgot to turn on the -v switch, but I seem to recall each of the six WD Greens pushing over 80 MB/s looking at the webGUI graphs.

I'll do this again when 9.3 goes to RELEASE, as I don't have that much confidence in a pool created by a 9.3 NIGHTLY build.
Right now I'm using the Xeon box to try breaking 9.3 BETA.
