I need to upgrade my X9SCA memory (currently running with 4GB, an unsupported configuration).

I'm looking at the motherboard manual: https://www.supermicro.com/manuals/motherboard/C202_C204/MNL-X9SCI_SCA.pdf

It says on page 1-8 that it has 4 slots, supports up to 32GB, but then goes on to say the biggest UDIMM size it supports is 4GB.

4GB/slot*4slots=16GB, less than 32GB.

What am I misunderstanding here?

I am considering these ram sticks: https://www.amazon.com/DDR3-1866MHz-Compatible-Workstation-NEMIX-RAM/dp/B07D3Z3YMP

This server acts as an offsite backup to my primary home server.

Supermicro lists a 8GB stick as compatible - if you can find them, then it would be best.

I've experienced putting RAM in a SM server with the exact same specs as the SM supplied ones, and no POST at all. Surprised my SM dealer as well (got the sticks through him) - when he was able to find some of the sticks from the HCL, the server booted just fine.
