X8DTL-3F & L5630 build, should this work "reasonably well" ?

Went and bought a pair of SuperMicro chassis. New to me, old to the guy who sold em. SC813MTQ-350CB.
I'm thinking i will run something like X8DTL-3F in it, with, at least starting out, a single L5630. (I'm building a pair of systems, so i will have a partner for the CPU, and can just pick up a second pair to power the other system, if needed, down the line. I don't see it using THAT much power, so realistically it shouldn't be needed.)
I know "Low Voltage" CPU's generally isn't recommended, but these things will live in my rack cabinet, of to the side in my living-room. So, it's a noise issue, keeping the maximum watt down should keep it, ever so slightly, less noisy. I hope.
Memory, is somewhat undecided. I have the option to go as far as 96gB, but, i'm not sure how the motherboard deal with 6 memory sockets, and only one CPU. Regardless, since i'm going to start out on a small scale, using the 4 hot-swap bays for the storage, and 4x2tB drives in them, the current idea is something like a pair of 16 gB memories, and stick one in each system. I will be picking memory of SuperMicros "verified" list.
I will be using the Intel sATA on the motherboard, rather then the LSI 1068E SAS "RAID" controller. They are both 3gbit/s interfaces, and circumvents the whole ""RAID" card issue. I don't know if the LSI 1068E can be turned in to something useful, but this way it wont matter.
The system wont have an optical drive. I have a USB unit i can install of, or, i'll look in to a USB install route.
What i haven't decided on yet, is what to use as a OS drive. I noticed the docs now recommend a harddrive rather then a USB stick, which is somewhat of a setback for me, i was intending to use the internal USB socket for the system. I might end up going the same route as for the other system, getting a "PCI-slot" harddrive bracket, to fit a drive in. A pair of new USB sticks would be cheaper then a new harddrive, but in reality i have harddrives, they just wont be new... then again, nothing else for this build will be, so, really, it should be (just as) fine. I want to dedicate the 4 hot-swap slots for the storage, and keep a dedicated drive for the system internally, somehow.

I will use the system mainly for media storage, and as such, streaming, most likely transcoding, to different units. It will also be used as local backup, but truth be told, i'm not doing my backups as i should, the important stuff is clouded, and everything else... Well, it's not unobtanium, so it's a calculated risk. (Ok, si i tried to be funny, but it turns out unobtanium actually is a thing. A fictional thing, but none the less.)
I expect to be upgrading the drive storage "as i get larger drives available", but when that happens i will most likely pull all the data of the drives, and swap them out.

Anyway. Is there any huge issues i might have overlooked with this? I had a small chat with someone over the hardware choice, but it pretty much boils down to price, availability, and so on. I will be sourcing things of eBay, which always is a bit of a gamble. I'm looking at about 350USD, shipped, (slight variations due to what memory, and 2, or 4CPU's i decide to go for) with customs fees and all, for 2 complete systems, and even just a step up to X9 family motherboard, with it's better performance, the motherboard alone costs as much as the entire build for both systems. Scary shit. Better performance, and reliability, for sure, but truth be told, i don't expect neither to be an issue for years to come with the build i'm looking at.

Now. Shoot. I might end up ignoring all your opinions, going with the typical "Huff. What do they know, elitist pricks" that always comes around and bites you in the ass, often sooner rather then later. But a huge thank you to all of you who actually read through all of this, and gave some thought to if there is something i should consider before pulling the trigger.
Really. Thanks a lot.
B!

I'm not certain what you are asking about, but I'll offer a couple of comments:
1) Anything built on that chassis will not be quiet
2) In my opinion, with a priority on serving media and transcoding, you would be better off with Ivy bridge processors or newer. They provide some low level video rendering functions in hardware. That means at least an X9 series motherboard. For file serving, your chosen CPU would be OK.
3) Newer processors run cooler and are more energy efficient
4) 16Gb RAM ought to be sufficient for a system with 4x2Tb drives

I'm just looking for opinions, like yours. Thank you for sharing.
Ideally i would go with newer gear, but the reality is... it is just not in my budget space. More then likely i'll upgrade it in 1-2 years, when X9 gear starts being in the same price range as these are right now.
