Hi...Building a new system I have two combo that I am looking at can you please let me know which is the best to go with and if the memory will work for both systems.

1)
1 x Supermicro X10SLL-F LGA 1150 Motherboard (in stock) $238 ex GST
2 x Crucial CT102472BD160B 8GB PC3L-12800 ECC Unbuffered 240-pin DIMM $236 ex GST
1 x Intel i3-4160 3.60GHz 2C 3M FCLGA1150 $145 ex GST

2)
1 x Supermicro X10SLL+-F LGA 1150 Motherboard( No stock, 1-2 weeks from order) $284 ex GST
2 x Crucial CT102472BD160B 8GB PC3L-12800 ECC Unbuffered 240-pin DIMM $236 ex GST
1 x Intel i3-4160 3.60GHz 2C 3M FCLGA1150 $145 ex GST

My last question is...do you have to have the same hdd or can one be a wd red 4tera and one be a wd green 4tera?

Cheers for the help guys.....I do realize that the memory would be better with Samsung but funding is low and also I have the crucial already

The only difference (comparison of X10 boards here) is that the X10SLL-F has one i217LM an one i210AT controller and the '+' has a 2-port i210AT. So for that $54 price difference, i would stick to the X10SLL-F board and spend that money elsewhere, since you are on a budget.
You can use those disks, but the Greens are not recommended (although there is some discussion about that).

There's no requirement that all the drives have to match, but IIRC your vdev will be limited to the slowest drive in it--so putting a WD green in a vdev full of 10k enterprise SAS drives wouldn't be a good idea. If you're going to use a Green, be sure to wdidle it.
