Hi, I am happy to say that finally my FreeNas system is up and running. I was reading Uncle Fester's FreeNas configuration guide "Configuring the BIOS" section and in there Fester recommends putting the SATA controller in AHCI mode. Would this benefit my system? Can someone provide their knowledge on what this actually does? is it a must? I would appreciate your help.
My system:
FreeNas 9.10.2
Motherboard: Supermicro X9SCM-F-O
Memmory: 16gb ECC unbuffered
(5) 2tb WD Red Derives - volume configured as Raid Z2
XEON E3-1240V2

AHCI is what you want. "IDE" is a compatibility mode should you need to run an operating system from the late Triassic Period that doesn't have AHCI drivers. "RAID" is a definite no-no for FreeNAS.
