Windows shares with Freenas8 ... yes, permission issues for me too...

I don't really understand this, I've tried manymany combinations but they all fail.

My end goal is to allow network access from only authenticated users who exist in the FreeNas user tree.

So, I created a user with a password, and tried to assign that to a group, and assign that group to the SHARE for Windows. However, no such luck, I have free access into the drive with no password.

Can anyone help me out here?

You should have your post in the same thread as the other permission problems. If you're using FreeNAS 8.0, it had a bunch of permission problems that should be fixed in beta 4, give that a try.
