Hi,
I tried to remove the encryption of disks by following the instructions at the web site http://freebsd93.blogspot.hk/2015/06/how-to-remove-encryption-from-zfs.html

unfortunately, after followed the first 6 steps on my first disk, the pool state still marked as DEGRADED.
I dare not to continue for the rest of the disks.

I totally have 5 disks. From the zpool status, they should be all online now. I guess it is because of the previous device"1a84a60c-9753-11e4-8571-d050991a79de.eli" which keep the pool marked as DEGRADED, shall I remove this device and how can I remove this device?
Code:
  pool: master
state: DEGRADED
  scan: resilvered 573G in 25h42m with 0 errors on Sat Aug 27 11:43:16 2016

Don't use Encryption personally, but I am guessing that the drive is still re-silvering and you need to wait for that to complete (which might take a while)? Check in the FreeNAS GUI and see if it shows that drive re-silvering...

How long would you estimate it has been since you started this task?

Thank you for your reply. I am quite sure system has completely resilvered.
The zpool status message shows
"resilvered 573G in 25h42m with 0 errors on Sat Aug 27 11:43:16 2016", it was showing resilvering" when in progress.

Don't know how to change the pool back from DEGRADED to ONLINE.

Solved!

I read the article on how to replace a disk in ZFS pool, it mentioned that the no longer exists old device need to be detached manually. I tried and it works!. My pool is back online now.

That mean I can following the instructions in my 1st post to remove the encryption drive-by-drive, although require painfully long time resilvering. (1 3TB drive takes 25 hours)

It was DEGRADED

Detach the non-exist drive

The pool is back online now.
