I setup UPS connectivity under 22.12.3.3 and verified the server could talk to the ups using the upsc command below. I had a power event today where the utility power failed server rack went on UPS (APC Smart UPS 1500 rack mount with network card) for about 28- 30 seconds until transfer to generator power was made. The servers in the rack made note that there was a power event (on ups power - preparing to shutdown in 5 minutes; power restored - shutdown canceled) and all of the servers are configured to get their info from the UPS via the UPS network card. The Truenas server seemed to blissfully ignore the event though if I do a
My concern is if the Scale server actually knows of power events and is simply not reporting or if it has no clue. If the ups's were to remain online until exhaustion due to a fail to transfer to generator then the Scale would continue running until it sufferd a power loss event. My power system and backup works as designed during a utility failure/abnomalities and I'm not willing to "yank power" on in production servers just to see what happens when everything else seems to quite easily understand what is happening to the power and what needs to be done.
Is there a way that I can actually monitor the power status of the Scale server and is there something I missed in Scale where power settings can be set to shutdown after x if on ups power?
the resulting info shows there was an event and that the server can communicate with the UPSupsc <ups name>@localhost
Initial Scale install was with Bluefin 22.12.3.3 and currently server is on 22.12.4.2input.transfer.reason: rateOfVoltageChange
