I’ve read much threads which is telling over 40 drives in a pool would not be recommended. (12 is prefered, they said)
They put there link to explain about that, its url seems gone though.
But some guys telling that there is no limits to add drive in freenas or ZFS.
I was confused for that, and most threads were almost a decade ago.

There is no such thing as "over 40 drives in a pool would not be recommended." This is ZFS, and pools are commonly made of hundreds or even thousands of drives. I don't know what "much threads" you've read with such ridiculousness.

However, you need to limit the number of drives within a vdev, the components that make up a pool, to about 12 or less.

ZFS is approaching two decades old. This does not impact the relevance of the advice.

You might benefit from a read-over of the Intro to ZFS document available in the Resources section.

Thanks,
So you said, except asking in forum,
Studying myself is recommended only in the official document, not two decades old Truenas forum?

Not quite clear on what you're saying.

You can use the "Search" feature at the upper right hand of most forum pages; I suggest the term "wide vdev" as something that is likely to bring up many discussions of ZFS vdev width over the years. You might also include the numbers 11 or 12 in the search term; I am a proponent of 11-wide vdevs on 12-bay systems which leaves you with a warm spare and you can do a very resilient RAIDZ3 array. There are people who have tried 18 or 24-wide vdevs and searching for those numbers may lead to discussions of how that didn't work out so well.
