What does the "Share Type" option for a dataset really do?

Hi all,

subject says it: is there any documentation apart from the source code?
I figure "Windows" will enable Windows style ACLs to be used by Samba. But what is the difference of "Unix" vs. "Mac"?

It changes the property aclmode on the dataset. Windows datasets set this property to restricted while UNIX and Apple set this value to passthrough.
