Just a grumble at myself really.
I bought some new ECC RAM, with the intention of testing it in a spare machine that I thought would take it (Supermicro X11SCL-F), for final install in my FreeNAS box (Asus X99-E WS).
It didn't work in the Supermicro and it took me an hour before I figured out it never would, as it only took Unbuffered, whereas the Asus takes Reg and Unbuffered. So my FreeNAS is now offline for a week, while it tests the memory, bit annoying but fortunately I'm not dependant on it just yet.
Doh, so perhaps a word to the un-wise, like me!
