How do I do this?
I have
/mnt/array/media/
/mnt/array/data/
/mnt/array/adult/ ..... (well... you know)

The shares are \\freenas\media or \data or \adult

Do I need to make a new account with user level permission or something? I don't want 2 of those shares to be accessible at all except with a password.

So is "Array" currently a shared Folder? If so, then simply make folders under that in Windows Explorer. Right-Mouse Click on them and set desired permissions there as well as removing other accounts you do not want to have access..

On second thought, it looks like "Array" is the Pool/Volume name.. Normally, I would say just make a Share called something like "Data". Set initial rights there in FreeNAS, then create the desired folders and set Rights on them from Windows Explorer.

Create a user on freenas and make the owner match that user name. Then unchecked everything but owner permissions on the adult dataset.

I'm following the guys video which seems quite good but I'm hitting Windows being an idiot.
"Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again."

Like I can't have 2 different credentials to 2 different shares on the same host? How does one get around this?

You can't, only a single user at a time with Windows.

So .... what's the solution? There must be a way, I've got a friend with a Synology box I'm almost positive one particular share on that box is heavily password protected?

Do I just set my main media share as "guest only" (reluctantly, but my network is secure) and then lock down my other 2 private shares with a username? Would that bypass it?

I gave you a solution already. You just give your user permissions to each share your want then to have access to.

I think you're right, I originally wanted anyone and everyone to have access to everything, easily and just one locked down section. (most of my stuff is guest enabld) I need to make it more secure.

I guess I'll make some groups and accounts and mess around with it

You can do exactly what your just described. Turn on guest access to the shares you want open then have normal auth with the shares your want to protect.
