Hi, all.

I have a problem with WOL. My settings is right (bios + ifconfig wol), but when I shutdown PC with "shutdown -p now" or by press a power button I can't wake up on LAN. If I shutdown PC before loading OS, WOL works correctly (wakes up by magic packed). I think problem in ACPI settings, but I don't now how set up it right.

OS: FreeBSD 8.3
Motherboard: asus a7n266-vm

ifconfig rl0
rl0: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
options=3808<VLAN_MTU,WOL_UCAST,WOL_MCAST,WOL_MAGIC>
ether 00:40:f4:70:c1:72
inet 192.168.5.105 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.5.255
media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX <full-duplex>)
status: active

and after boot select shutdown:
11) Shutdown
System halt with:
The operating system has halted.
Please press any key to reboot.

Then I press power button and PC power off. After wake on lan works normally.

Yeah, Realtek probably isn't the best option of you want to take advantage of advanced features like WOL. I'm pretty sure the forum has found that Intel NICs fix the problem. Disabling ACPI wouldn't be my first choice if I wanted to use WOL...
