Could we get VTL (Virtual Tape Library) built into FreeNAS (or as a plug-in if possible?).

MHVTL looks interesting although it only lists downloads for Linux not BSD.

Totally agree. Implementing mhvtl should be very useful nowadays

This is what the mhvtl guy has to say about porting: http://mhvtl-linux-virtual-tape-lib.../run-mhvtl-in-FreeBSD-possible-td1765175.html. We'll have to ask around to see if any FreeBSD devs are interested in the kernel module portion or if there is already a similar FreeBSD functionality.

QuadStor supports FreeBSD 12.1.... Too bad we cannot run that in a jail
