VM Holds Off On Starting Till VNC Is Open?

Hi,

I created an Ubuntu VM. At first I was getting the "Failled to set MokListRT <snip> Confirming boot since secure mode is disabled" error. I then followed the instructions in another thread and did:

cd /boot/efi/EFI/BOOT/
cp BOOTX64.EFI BOOTX64.EFI.save
cp ../ubuntu/grubx64.efi BOOTX64.EFI
sync;sync;sync
<stop the VM>
<start the VM>

That kind of solved the problem, but not really.

When the VM starts now, it still sits in some sort of wait mode until I open a VNC (same as before but with a black screen instead of an error message). Once the VNC is open it completes the boot/startup process (same as before as well). If I do not open a VNC it just sits in waiting and does not complete the boot process.

Any idea on how to fix it? Thanks!!
