Hi Guys,
I have run in an issue when trying to virtualize an instance of Windows Server 2016.
My system is:
OS Version:
FreeNAS-11.2-RELEASE-U1
(Build Date: Dec 20, 2018 22:41)
Processor:
Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU C2750 @ 2.41GHz (8 cores)
Memory:
32 GiB
VM1 - Ubuntu - 2 x vCores, 8024mb RAM
VM1 - Windows Server - 2 xvCores, 6024mb RAM
I currently have one VM running Ubuntu without any issues. When I spun up a second VM for Win Server 2016 it started freezing at intermittent times regardless of what the system was doing. The last time it happened I was adding users to an Active Directory, other times it was when checking for updates. There are no defined steps I can take to reproduce the issue. I had a look in EventViewer and there is nothing there other than the rescheduled reboot. This is what leads me to think it's a virtualization Issue rather than a Windows issue.
Edit: This is the CPU usage, doesn't look right?
Any ideas why this might be happening or where I could look to get further information? Thanks!
