VirtualMachine map datasets

Hi folks,

Quick question: I need to build a VM (debian) that needs to have a dataset linked to it. I am trying to link it via device->cdrom but the vm never starts. is there another way besides cifs mount to map this? I loved the way the old jails could map datasets :)
