VirtualBox affecting system stability

Hello!

I was curious about an issue I keep hitting from time to time - and the issue being VirtualBox VM bringing the whole system down.

So far I can reproduce it with following actions:

• shutdown system when a VM is running
• restart jail via GUI (I had the vboxwebservice crash so I wanted to restart the jail)
• (not confirmed) replace failed HDD in an array

.. and by bringing the system down I mean endless error messages (core dump?) that can be only resolved via hard reset. All services go down etc.

I have resolved the VM issue during shutdown by modifying shutdown scripts, however, I keep finding these new "triggers". Is there any list of known issues what cannot needs to be avoided when a VM is running?

That seems decent. AFAIK, there isn't a list of known issues when a VM is running.
