Hi all,

I would like to create a 36 drive zpool (via several 5 disk RaidZ vdevs), but when having 16 drives left, I no longer am able to choose any.

Attached is a picture of what I mean. You'll see that there are 16 drives left, but when choosing the +. I see no drives. I've removed and created this volume a few times to no avail. I am able to do it via the CLI on FreeBSD, haven't tried FreeNAS CLI route yet but I wanted to get some insight first.

I've tried Firefox and Chrome thinking it might be a browser issue.

I've narrowed it down to a single JBOD. I can create and use a zpool via cli on various distros so I don't think its the hardware.

I don't have another JBOD to swap it out for readily available.

I've added another screen shot, any one able to offer some insight?

It's probably the new volume manager. I'd recommend you put a ticket in at bugs.freenas.org.

Thanks.

Seems like it won't see the last 16 drives no matter which JBOD I use. So basically drives 20-35 are seen as per my latest uploaded image, but I don;t have the option to add them.

Hmm, I can't seem to submit a bug. Have you done any since the site revamp?

UPDATE, NM got it.

No, the new volume manager has some issues with forcing configs. You could probably do what you want without any problems with 8.3.1.

Does 8.3 support ZFS v5000, specifically need LZ4. Also TRIM would be nice.

Super stoked to have had a developer help me out with this issue. We have a work around and fix and has committed. The work around is very simple;

Simply enlarge the shaded seemingly empty drive area and they will then appear for one to add.
