Noob asking here :)
When using the wizard to create a share/user (10.4.2. Configuring Authenticated Access Without a Domain Controller), I noticed that the wizard will leave the home directory of the new user as "nonexistent". I have manually changed that to point to the new user's home directory. Is that a good step or am I messing things up?

I am following the guide word for word, but there was no mention of this step... that's why I am asking.

Depend on if you want your users to have home directories or not. I use them along with the cifs home directory feature and ssh access for users. If you don't need users to have their own directory you should leave it as noexist
