Hello All,

Anyone ever used SSD 960 PRO NVMe M.2 for cache L2ARC/ZILL drive, and if it would be a good choice?
Thanks

Fine for L2ARC.
Less sure about the SLOG (not ZILL, nor ZIL) part.
Does it have power loss protection? What's the durability?

@tbaror, this device might be okay as an L2ARC, but it doesn't have the features you need for a SLOG device. In particular, it lacks power loss protection (as pointed out by @Ericloewe) and has a low durability rating as well.

For example, the Intel DC P3700 SSD has an endurance rating up to 62.05 PBW (Petabytes written) or up to 17 drive writes/day. The NVMe SSD 960 PRO is warrantied for 5 years or 400TBW (Terabytes written) for the 512GB model, 800TBW for the 1024GB model, and 1200TBW for the 2048GB model. In a nutshell, the Intel (which I highly recommend for a SLOG device) has better durability by two orders of magnitude.

Good luck!
