It's not rocket science, but OMV have a very nice plugin called "USB Backup".
- it automounts the USB Drive when plugged in
- runs the defined jobs in the USB Backup scheduler
- unmounts the drive upon completion of the job
maybe in an enterprise that is not a required feature, but without a doubt small home/office and for small business
that in my view is a key feature. i wouldn't backup my data to a cloud provider,
my data goes to a hdd to be stored in a fire proof safe and is rotated amongst 3 disks.
On OMV in addition to the datasets, it is also possible to add a backup of the system disk as well.
something of a useful feature, when you have only a single nas environment and need to recover from a system failure in a hurry.
