I have FreeNAS 9.2.1.8 on a 16GB usb drive, and would like to know what changes if any would be made by upgrading to 9.3.

I understand that 9.3 now uses zfs, my filesystem is also zfs, and gpt on the drive instead of mbr.

Will there be any changes to the web GUI, or more specifically any changes to settings etc.

Ok, yes I was reading some of that information before, and now I am not so keen on this statement, the underlined part, as it does not imply it should go well!

Assuming all went well, the FreeNAS® system will receive the same IP from the DHCP server. Refresh your browser after a moment to see if you can access the system.

It is always useful to have console or IPMI access during any upgrade/install in case something goes wrong.

Yes I do have a spare monitor so I can see what is happening, but I hope nothing does go wrong.

That's said because not everything in this world is 100%. You also might not get the same IP from your DHCP if you aren't following what many would consider "best practices" and "general practices" for DHCP. So if you know your setup you can answer your concerns with 'I know it should be okay' or you can answer with "I have no clue". In either case 9.3 is the future so you'd be smart to upgrade sooner or later. If it means anything to you I'm running 9.3 on one of my boxes and it's great. I just haven't upgraded the other because it works fine and is in production. But before the end of the year I expect to be on 9.3 on all of my boxes.
