Upgrade the LIS controller to SATA ?

Being to build my FreeNAS I went with the Super Micro X10SL7 and I have read in the thread for advices about hw that the LSI SAS controler can be flashed to become SATA controler. How do you do that ? as I have been unable to find tuto or doc about this in forum !

You misunderstand.

Flash the controller with P16 IT mode from Supermicro's website.
