I am setting up a new system, and installed FreeNAS 9.10-Stable to a pair of USB 3.0 flash drives. I booted it up and went straight into the console where I have been testing my drives with smartctl and badblocks before setting up my storage pools. So I really have just been using FreeNAS as a freebsd shell. After being up a few days running badblocks, I left it running smartctl long tests. When I came back tonight, I see that there was an error message on the console: "freenas update_check.py: [freenasOS.Configuration:710] Got http error HTTP Error 404: Not Found"
I have a few questions about this one. First did I forget to do something when I ran the installer? I'm working my way through the setup portion of the documentation, but have been concentrating on hardware testing before I did any more configuration.
Second, why would this error appear on the console? Once it is running, it will rarely have one attached, even with IPMI.
Third, should I just ignore this, or is there something I need to do. I presume from the name that this is a maintenance script that got installed (obviously to check for updates), maybe run from chron or something. But is it complaining because I have not configured something correctly?
Thanks for your advice.
