Update Plugin Manually

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know if there is a way to update a plugin manually?

I'm a plexpass user and would really like to upgrade to Plex 0.9.9.

Any ideas?

I'd also like to know how to do this - preferably with an easy way to roll back if something breaks.

You could manage the software within the shell of the plex jail manually using packages or ports: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/ports.html. A safer option would be to create one's own plugin jail, install the pkg or port for the desired app and make sure it is working as intended, then delete the old plugin and its associated jail. That option really gives you a testing framework to make sure the new version works before removing the old one. If the new version blows up, you haven't lost the old version.
