Unix permissions won't change

1)Hit "Change permissions" button on share.
2)Change the read/write/execute options for Owner/Group/Other
--Permission type set to Unix
3)Hit "Change" Button
4) Server Message: "Mount Point permissions successfully updated."
5)Hit "Change Permissions" button on the share
Nothing has changed/updated.

I deleted that share and recreated it and now, for some reason, the unix permissions are working.

So now, playing with unix permissions, Owner(User) authentication/permissions works but Owner(Group) authentication/permissions do not. Any idea why that would be?
