I have mistakenly installed a plugin that I would now like to remove.

I can see the Jail but when I select the jail there is no delete (trash can icon) displayed as in the documentation here

I went to storage and found the associated volume and clicked 'destroy dataset' thinking that this may be stopping me from deleting but it hasn't made any difference.

Also it doesn't make a difference whether the jail is stopped or started - still no delete button.

Can you tell me what I'm missing?

Is the jail highlighted? i.e. are you seeing other buttons but not the delete button? If so, which version of FreeNAS?

Yes it is selected. If I don't select no buttons are displayed.

Once selected the buttons displayed are
1. Edit jail (spanner icon)
2. Add storage (folder icon)
3. Start (green icon)

If I select another jail that is started then I see a couple of extra buttons

3. Upload plugin (cube icon)
4. Stop (red icon)
5. Shell (command prompt icon).

I am running version;

FreeNAS-9.2.1.2-RELEASE-x64 (002022c)

I know there were 2 recent bugs related to deleting jails and both claim that a fix committed for 9.2.1.6 fixes it:
https://bugs.freenas.org/issues/5082. Are you able to upgrade to 9.2.1.6 when it comes out in about 2 weeks? It is currently in BETA.

I don't think this is a bug. you can't delete a jail with a plugin currently installed. uninstall the plugin and the jail should delete itself

Yes you should go to plugins not jail to uninstall.

Hi,

Yes thankyou, Joshua Parker Ruehlig, you are right. I was able to delete through the plugin menu. As I'd already deleted the dataset I had to recreate that in order to re-start the jail. Once that was running I could delete.

Thanks to all for quick reponses!

If I delete a plugin (e.g. Plex) the uninstall process goes ok and the jail is removed too. But, if I reinstall the same plugin it remembers all the previous settings.

I try to delete the plugin, but I get a message stating, "Error: The plugins jail is not running, start it before proceeding".
However, when I attempt to start the plugin jail (setting the jail service status to ON?) I get the following error: "Some error occurred"
According to another thread (http://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/plugin-service-status-not-working.19325/#post-134723) I'm supposed to reinstall the plugin and then delete. This did not work for me, and I keep getting the same errors. I'm missing something, but I don't know what it is or where to find it (or what to search on to find it).

Please assist!
