I needed to start all over as my tinkering had resulted in some discs being inaccessible (partition tables got in the way perhaps when I tried to erase the earlier zpool??).
In order to clear the drives and reformat, I arranged for a Ubuntu flach drive, and used it to reformat the drives as GUID volumes with one partition (XFS, arranged for FreeBSD zfs data).
When I boot FreeNAS, I can use the shell to find the discs in the /dev directory, called ada0 through ada6. In addittion, there is one partition on each drive, ada0p1 etc.
FreeNas reports it should be accessible at 10.0.1.8, but when I direct my browser to that address I get the response:
Unhandled exception
An unhandled excepton was thrown by the application
The FreeNAS machine is responding to pings just as before in less than 0,24 ms.
Where did I go wrong?
Thanks for assistance, peter
