Understanding clones

I've been working with snapshots and clones for awhile now, but there's one aspect of clones that I've never been 100% sure about. If I were to clone a snapshot, is that clone a full standalone copy of the snapshot or is there still a dependency on the snapshot? Meaning if I had a snapshot called TANK/SET@mysnapshot and I make a clone called TANK/SET-mysnapshot-clone, can I delete the snapshot TANK/SET@mysnapshot, but keep the clone data?

There is a dependency on the snapshot that the clone is created from and the snapshot can't be deleted. Here is the reference:

Thanks Chris! Just the info I was looking for. Think I'll file a bug to have freenas doc updated. Even though it does mention clones and snapshots, the relationship between the two in the documentation is not as clear as the Oracle one
