Hello,

I am trying to do a gui update of the firmware and i am receiving the following error:

"The path '/mnt/share' requires execute permission bit"

This is on step 1 of 2 of the Firmware Update.

I tested this on a fresh install of Freenas 9.2 and didn't receive an issue. On the existing freenas 9.2 install I have been using for years i get this error.

Any ideas? I do all my configuration through the GUI so there shouldn't be anything custom to my install.

Thank you for your help

Sounds like someone didn't know what they were doing with permissions on their server at some point and screwed up the permissions on their pool.

Save config and do a clean install of 9.2.0 stable on the usb.. Reload the config? I believe that will work and fix the permission issues.. You must of changed them on your existing freenas usb..

Or just set up 9.2.0 fresh and re-import pool as I believe you indicated it worked normally..

Good luck..
