Hi Guys

i am new to the forums so thanks for taking the time to try sand assist me, we have our own Free nas server that we have build at our office and for some reason we can access the interface fine we can ping the device but we cant access the data on the drives.

1) There are now warnings that the raid has failed
2) We can still see the raid on the web GUI

Any assistance on this would be great

Kind Regards

Can you provide some more information, namely:

- full hardware specifications
- FreeNAS version you are running?

And just to clarify while I'm at it:
- you are able to access the GUI through the web correct?
- you are NOT able to access any of your data through the shares?

- What kind of shares do you have setup?
- Did you change anything before this started happened? (power loss, shutdown, update, etc.)?

Provide as much information as you can and we can better help you.

Freenas ver 9.10.1 U4

Yes i can access the GUI
I cannot access the shares if i try \\myserver
We have not had any power outages we have a 8-12hr UPS that keeps the servers up, no updates have been run and as far as i know we haven't had it shut down unexpectedly.
i also tried to restart smb service to check if that would be the problem now it wont restart if i click the link nothing happens.

The drives are low on disk space when i mean low i mean they are full surely this will not stop us from accessing the data.

Ok we are getting somewhere.

How full? Strange things can happen when you go above 80% capacity, and above 90% you are getting into territory where things will go wrong, just a matter of time. ZFS and FreeNAS needs that free space to operate smoothly, hence the warnings that are usually issued when are you approaching those thresholds.

That is the first thing I would start with. Offload some data if you can to get it below 80% (even below 90% would be a start) and see if your problem persists.
