Was transferring files last night to a windows share folder. Woke up this morning and won’t let me access my freenas box. Click on it and is says windows cannot access \\freenas it says the network path was not found. However my server is still working in watching stuff on my plex media server. I think it’s something with windows can anyone help

Try the IP in place of \\freenas \\192.168.168.168 or whatever Windows geeks out like this sometimes. I have found after long battles with this issue, especially in a multi OS network, use IPs.

Out of curiosity does Windows know who freenas is? Do a ping freenas from the command prompt. See if it resolves to your freenas box.

Ended up restarting my freenas system then it started working again. I just panicked since I’m super new to freenas and using a server I’m very green with this stuff but just like Linux when I started playing with Linux in the early 2000s I just thought myself and with help from people online I can use Linux pretty well now
