Hi,

in the last couple of days i notice after login the UI is not displaying anything on the page, i'm still login and can access the files on my network, see attached screenshot.
refreshing the page doesn't help much, sometimes it take 10-15min to load or it doesn't load at all, rebooting the server is the same.

not sure if it relates but i will mention, in the last couple of days i had issues installing windows 10 on VM and did it few times as i had windows freeze after installation.
so to stop the VM process i used the shell kill to restart the windows.

Is anyone experience this issue, where can we check to find where the problem coming from?

i'm not sure if its a bug from the latest update (i have auto update check enabled) or something to do with OS image?

Hope anyone can help

Thank you

@dlavigne I did come across this issue on 9.10.2-U6 a week or two ago, took a couple of refreshes but it eventually worked. Will 9.10 be patched too? I don't plan to upgrade to 11 until 11.1 is released.

Your situation happens occasionally (I think it's semi-broken cached files invalidation), but what I think is being patched is specifically Chrome's recent widespread breakage.

No. The fix will be tested in the BETA (estimated for Oct 23). Assuming the 11.1 BETA/RC process doesn't hit any major snafus, we're estimating mid to late Nov for 11.1.

Edge did the same thing for (actually to) me.
All browsers occasionally break like this with the old FreeNAS GUI, particularly around updates (browser or FreeNAS) and clearing the cached page generally fixes it. Chrome, however, has been breaking way more than is typical, lately.

This is what my screen looks like if I use IE11 or Edge. It has been like that since I use FreeNAS. I think I started with 9.2. While I want to be free to use any browser I want, I've resigned myself to the fact that I need to use Chrome if I want to access the GUI. Of course if Chrome starts to act up, my options are running short. In the mean I wonder if there are MS haters at the FreeNAS GUI devs :)

Both IE11 and Edge have always worked for me, as has Firefox. It's much more likely that something is misconfigured and causing the page to load incorrectly.

What can I say. Both Chrome and Firefox are working for me. IE and Edge not. When I switched from an USB boot device to an SSD boot device I did a fresh install of FreeNAS 11.x. After installation, at the first access (with IE) the same problem occurred. So that was before I uploaded my configuration file, leaving not much room for misconfiguration at that point. Of course there could be a problem with my Windows client. But when I use my business laptop to log in I see the same behaviour. So, for this moment Chrome it is. The good news is that I don't see any problems with the load of the demo of the new GUI. I can wait for its release.

I have a identical problem with IE11 (Win 10 x64) on all my PCs. I don't use Chrome or Firefox or similar - only IE.
On Freenas 11.0 all is ok. Where is the problem ?

The problem is that IE11 is obsolete and only exists to serve crazy incompatible things that still exist in corporate networks. Use Edge or Firefox, both of which are actually modern browsers and have a chance of being targeted by UIs going forward

The bug that was present in 11.0 has been fixed in 11.1.

I don't have use any other browser nad don't plan use another browser in the future. IE is good for me and compatible with freenas 11.0. Bug is still on freenas 11.1 (final), but no on freenas 11.0. It will be fixed ?
I test Edge browser, problem not exist.

Don't blame the browser for a bug in the GUI. And a bug it is if you ask me. I have no problems with using Firefox for the time being, but I would not accept this in a web GUI of one of the applications I am responsible for.

Now it is possible that this problem is caused by a wrong setting but it would be nice to know what wrong setting. And up to date nobody has given an adequate answer to that as far as I know. This is how it looks like if I use Edge. And yes, Edge is updated (just yesterday).
