Hi,
I am having issues upgrading to Truenas, it seem like the system downloaded the installation correctly. It then rebooted and froze during the startup at this line:
Starting rpcbind.
Any idea why this would block the startup of the sever ?
My machine hardware is in my signature.

If you hit Ctrl-C does it skip that stuck service and continue on with the booting?

Thanks for your answer Kris! I tried to use ctrl+C when I see the line coming up but it doesn't work. It still freeze.
I am able to start Trunas in safe mode.
Would you have any advice on how to fix the rpcbind service ?

So I turned off NFS because it looked like rpcbind is related to that service, then rebooted. I still froze but at one line up "Creating and/or trimming log files".
Googling the error it looks like someone had the exact sam issue:
Which is related to the hardware, they have a similar motherboard to mine. Supermicro X11SSL-F
It sounds like I should look into updating my bios.

Hi, first word here is 'Help!'.

I have also run into a problem upgrading from 11.3 to 12.0. I'm, essentially, no longer able to access via the browser, and don't know what, exactly to do at the console.

The system is booting to the login prompt, but that's about it.. Pinging the Truenas server at its original IP address is unreachable too.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

After getting through the initial panic, I captured some additional information.

1. Motherboard: Supermicro X9SRL-F Bios REV. 3.0a (12/05/2013) (original firmware that was installed on the Mobo)
2. RAM: 33GB
3. Drives: 6 x HGST 4.3TB
4. 1 x SATA CD drive

Also, performed a system restart (root) and managed to capture the error:

MIDDLEWARED FAILED TO START. SYSTEM WILL NOT BEHAVE CORRECTLY! (a bit of an understatement, for sure.)
