Background:
- Testing environment only
- Create TrueNAS as VM in vSphere 7.0 environment (enterprise scale with multiple hosts and IBM v7000 SAN array)
- Create two 1T LUNs from IBM v7000 SAN array and presented to the VMware host cluster holding the TrueNAS VM
- Create two RDM disks within TrueNAS VMs
- Log into TrueNAS console, the two RDM disks won't show up
- Create two VMdisk disks within TureNAS VMs, those two disks did show up in TrueNAS console

Help Needed:
- How to fix this problem
- Google online it seems that TrueNAS VM with RDM can be setup, but there is no detail steps provided
- Anyone can share their experience with similar setup?

Thanks,

RDM is NOT recommended. Too many people have lost data that way.

Testing environment only

Definitely the correct Step 1 here; don't reproduce this in production, but you can do this to learn the UI and explore things in a testing/POC sense only.

Are you using a VMware pvscsi controller? Attaching the RDM devices to the VM through the standard LSI SAS controller should cause them to show up as daX devices. Try reattaching and check the dmesg log.
