I'm using an old Mac Pro 5.1 I believe, after updating to TrueNas Core 13, it wont boot without a GPU installed. Sadly the only GPU I have I can hear the fan run.
We definitely have TrueNAS systems without GPU, having only serial consoles, so it is not a problem of TrueNAS. May be system BIOS, or somehow a combination. I had a system (desktop class) that didn't boot without USB mouse. ;)
Actually, in absence of GPU TrueNAS same as FreeBSD should fall back to serial output, and if serial port is also absent on the Mac, then it may be a problem.
Sure it can be that something has changed in 13, but it is hard to say anything specific without more information. As I have told, we do have systems (X-series) not having video output, relying on serial consoles. If your system has a serial port, make sure it is properly configured as a console both in BIOS (if supported) and TrueNAS WebUI before the GPU removed.

Mac’s don’t have a bios like PC hardware does or a serial port. I setup the boot drive with VMware Fusion. Then put it in the Mac Pro. I appreciate your to help.
