Sorry if this is covered in other posts, couldn't find a similar thread. I have a 12.0-U3 install done today, and after some hours of working on settings, after a break when logging in it refused to recognize the root password which had been used all day for various things. I went back to an attached display. It was continually reporting UPS USB connection failures, unknown device/driver (a Cyber Power BR850ELCD). That service had been showing normal status all day. I reset the root password, logged into the Web GUI OK and found a Cyber Power model whose settings were accepted.
Logging back in half an hour later, the root password was again not accepted. I haven't yet reverted to attaching a display and keyboard again. Is there any known cause for the root password issue? I have a ZFS pool and working SMB shares and everything seems fine apart from the password issue.
Any advice will be very welcome.l
