Trouble getting new VM with a fresh install of Ubuntu Server to boor from virtual disk

I created a VM using UEFI and mounted the Ubuntu Server 18 LTS ISO in the virtual CD-ROM. Upon booting the VM, I can get through the install process without issue and am prompted to remove the installation media and reboot. If I delete the virtual CD-ROM and reboot, the GRUB bootloader boots right back into the installer. I've set the Virtual Disk as the first boot device (1001, NIC and VNC are ordered 1002 and 1003) and still the VM only boots to the installer, even without a virtual CD-ROM attached to the VM. Am I missing something simple? How can I get the VM to boot from the virtual disk rather than the installer?
