Transmission plugin failes while creating the jail

Heya there,
when I try to install transmission I get the error that the template with this nickname already exists. I already installed btsync before and deleted it because I thought I would give transmission first a try. The "jails" dataset still exists.

Does anyone know how I could get it to run or is that a common problem with transmission? I haven't found anything that looks similar to my issue.

Which version of FreeNAS?

It's the current 9.2.1.5. I have also tried to reinstall btsync just in case to see if it works but I get the same error "template already exists".

I successfully removed the jail after I restarted my NAS. Now I'm getting after 25% (1/4) a new error. Perhaps this helps?

Unfortunately nobody seems to have an answer to that problem. I've seen a similar thread where they reported that 2.82 transmission should be broken, so perhaps this could be the reason.

If someone else get these errors, then please let me know what you have done to get it work. Personally I deleted the jail and made a restart and tried to install an earlier version of transmission for 64-bit freeNAS which can be found here:

Transmission 2.77_1 installed correctly, which means it is listed in the "installed" section. I don't know if it works but I think so. There is also Transmission 2.80 (not tested yet) which seems to be the version before 2.82 and could be a try too...

I hope this helps other users and I'm still wondering that nobody else seems to have this issue.

Don't push the update button agfter installing the older pbi.. it doesn't work :)

Thanks for your answer stephenreda. Thats the thread I usualy meant. I tried also to install 2.80 and it works too... though there is a hugh different in size between those versions. While the 2.77_1 phy only has about 13Mb, transmission 2.80 takes 70Mb.

Edit: It, seems that it stuck during the installation so I would recommend to stay at 2.77 ... which currently gets the same error like I posted before when trying to install it. I don't know if this is the fault of the current version of freeNAS but in general it feels like installing plugins is not that stable as it should be and it takes a lot of time and patient... (and destroying the dataset "jails")

I'm having the same issue with 9.2.1.6, I receive the message Error:ERROR: A template with this nickname already exists!

I've tried installing 2.77 referenced by kitsune and I've also tried deleting the .warden-template-pluginjail with no success. Nothing seems to work.

I also tried installing other jails (CouchPotato, Sickbeard) and I get the same message from those as well.​
