Transitioning a Spare Drive to Usage for Data

Sorry if this is common but I don't think I know what to search for. Is there a guide or documentation on how to convert a spare drive to a data disk? Note that this is NOT to replace a failed drive.

There is currently no way to expand a vdev, it is a planned feature.

You would have to rebuild your vdev with the new drive which would require destroying the current vdev (and your data).

It would help if you posted your full system specs as per forum rules (in red at the top of the page).

You can increase a pool size by adding another vdev (just don't do a single drive in a vdev)

I see that now, thank you. Unfortunately I'm uncomfortable with all the mistakes I made, so im dumping the data into 2 locations and rebuilding.
