Transfer Transmission settings and active torrents

My transmission installation seems to be broken since the update to 9.2RC. When trying to start it, I get an "An error occured" error message.
Now, my question is:
Is there a way to transfer my transmission settings and especially the active torrents out of the old jail and into a new installation?

Assuming the old jail was on a 9.x system, you should be able to tar up your settings/data from the old jail and untar it into a new one.

Yes but how exactly would I do that? Where are the important settings and data?
