Hi guys,
Running 9.2.1.9
Just installed and configured Transmission, everything is working great.
On my OS X computer I also run the Transmission app.
I have nearly 200 active torrents that I leave there to seed and contribue to my share ratio on a private torrent site.
What I want to do now is switch everything to FreeNAS's Transmission plugin.
Last time I switched computers, all I had to do is to move the downloaded files (not the .torrent files, but the resulting files).
Make sure they are in the download target folder of Transmission.
Then add the torrents (.torrent files) to Transmission
And it would analyse the download folder, then find out the files are already there, and instead of downloading them again, it would just do some verifications and it would end up reporting the torrent as already downloaded, and would start seeding it.
Therefore, this would have no impact on my share ratio, as the torrent would not have downloaded again, it just recognized the file and started sharing it.
I hope I'm expressing myself adequately here.
Anyhow I've been trying the same procedure with FreeNAS + Transmission plug-in.
1) Add two storages to the jails : one for .torrent files, the other for downloads
2) Configure Transmission plug-in, then start it
3) Copy my downloaded files (again, not the .torrent files but the resulting files)
4) Add one .torrent file to transmission through the GUI
As a result, it would simply report "Error: File exists" and just stop there.
So my question is: how can I resume my seeding please?
