Time for resilvering vs RAM?

Can I speed up resilvering by adding RAM to a machine, or is the deciding factor how full the disks are, regardless of RAM?

RAM isn't a factor (assuming you meet the minimum).

disk speed, vdev configuration (Mirror, RAIDZ1, etc), and usage are the factors affecting resilver.
