Hi everyone,

Im trying to build my first nas for home.
I want to buy this, im not sure if the memory will work fine with the processor.

1.- SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SLL-F-O uATX Server Motherboard LGA 1150 DDR3 1600
2.- SUPERMICRO SSD-DM016-PHI SATA DOM (SuperDOM) Solutions
3.- Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM ECC Unbuffered DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Server Memory Model CT2KIT102472BD160B.
4.- Intel Pentium G3220 Haswell Dual-Core 3.0GHz LGA 1150 54W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646G3220

at this time my budget is short.
PS: Does anyone try to install freenas in a sata dom adaptor?

Thanks!

iXSystems uses SATA DOMs, so I presume they work fine. I've ordered a pair of eBay specials from China, so I'll see how they work whenever they get off the boat. But if budget is short, I'd buy a $10 USB stick instead and apply the difference toward an i3 CPU.

You'll probably find that 16GB is plenty of RAM for your system for at least 2-3 years. So no upgrade is likely going to be needed.

Of course, you can just max out the board and be done with it forever. ;)

Not many people use 4GB DIMMs around here, so there's little data to go around on what modules work. Another reason to go straight to 8GB.

Note if you buy your memory direct from Crucial and it's listed as compatible with your motherboard on their site, they will take it back if it does not work.

I'm using CT2KIT102472BD160B in my X10SLM-F - it's been running fine even though it's not on the QVL, though it is on @Ericloewe's list.

Sure it is. I just don't list packages, just the single DIMMs.
