The PlexMediaServer plugin version hasn't updated for a long time...

It seems like the version of the plugin for PlexMediaServer in the GUI isn't updating according to the version in here http://www.freshports.org/multimedia/plexmediaserver/ , is this a bug or am I missing something here?

I'm using FreeNAS-11.0-U4.

It likely wont be for a bit either, they are transitioning to a new plugin system.

Is there some way i can do the update manually or do i have to wait for the new plugin system?

You can create a standard jail and install Plex there. That way you have the control as to when you want to update.

Whether it is worth it to move all your Plex data to a different jail or not just for the ability to be on the latest version is your call.

This is what I use and it works every time. It you have a Plexpass then add _plexpass to the installs and upgrade and -plexpass to the service.

Examples:

pkg install multimedia/plexmediaserver_plexpass

service plexmediaserver-plexpass start

This will not work if someone is using the plug-in. This only works if you build a jail from scratch.

You are correct. I was replying to the comment about moving to a Jail and off the Plugin, which seems overwhelming at first but is almost as easy as a plugin.
