Hi,
I'm a happy user of a SuperMicro SuperServer 2027R-WRF above which I installed FreeNAS 9.3 stable.

Everything works wonderfully however sometimes SuperMicro's funs come on very very hard like...a airplaine was about to start

There aren't many VM inside the FreeNAS (hard disks inside FreeNAS are connected via iSCSI to a Vmware ESXi) and I don't know explain this event that occurs 7-8 times a day, I think in a not periodic manner (but I'm not sure because every day I leave the datacenter at 7 p.m.)

Have you some idea where I could start for invesigate it ? Some keywords to search inside the FreeNAS logs ?

Tnx

The Supermicro X10 FAQ has a few links that might help you...

but are you sure that my SuperServer 2027R-WRF is a SuperMicro X10 ? How could I verify it ?
I have no idea if it is (checking the product page will tell you the motherboard used), but the IPMI stuff is standardized (mostly).

The thresholds are really low for a server chassis - that wouldn't cause your trouble, but it makes your system less robust against fan failure.

At this point, my guess is either a fan that is intermittently blocked by a cable or something or a fan failing for some other intermittent reason. Your IPMI log should have some clues as to what's going on.

Hi Ericloewe,
I attached all messages ipmi-related from the "/var/log/messages" log file.

Do you think it's amenable to the trouble I reported on top of this thread ?
